Havnefront

The Havnefront project presented several challenges. Firstly, the land required extensive environmental remediation due to past industrial activity. Secondly, integrating the new development seamlessly with the existing urban fabric while preserving the area's industrial heritage was crucial.

GroundUp's team tackled these challenges by implementing innovative brownfield redevelopment strategies. We collaborated with environmental specialists to ensure a thorough clean-up, while also incorporating elements of the site's industrial past into the design. This included restoring historical structures and repurposing them for new uses, such as art galleries and restaurants.

The project journey involved extensive community engagement. We conducted workshops and open forums to gather resident input and ensure the development aligned with their needs and aspirations. This collaborative approach fostered a strong sense of ownership and excitement for the project within the community.

Key Outcomes

Havnefront has become a thriving hub, attracting residents, businesses, and tourists. The project boasts:

• Over 800 new sustainable homes

• 20,000 sqm of commercial space, including shops, offices, and co-working facilities

• 5km of public green spaces and a revitalized waterfront promenade

• A 15% increase in property values in the surrounding area
